'Poetry 2009’
Poets United
4th - 5th July, 18th - 19th July
Poets United will perform at a
number of venues in July as part of Peterborough
Artists Open Studios.
Poets United, the ‘Peterborough and Fenland
Performance Poetry’ group, are part of a thriving
local ‘spoken-word’ scene and have performed in the
area for over ten years. Members regularly read at
local pubs (Glass Onion, Charters, Palmerston,
Tap), colleges (Stamford, Peterborough) and
festivals (Roots, Peterborough, etc.) Performances
are as varied as our members but always seek to
entertain, amuse or provoke thought. All members
are experienced performance poets, most are widely
published and our current line-up includes five
Peterborough Poet Laureates. Last year, Poets
United collaborated with local artists to read at
nine studios around the City.
