Primarily a painter of portraits, exploring the numerous characteristics of different media. Ian also produces abstract works with little or no forethought. Through the use of paint, relief and intaglio printmaking methods. The processes involved are all encompassing, potentially opening up unlimited creative possibilities.
The journey from a bare white support to a completed image is always a huge challenge
