Since doing the City and Guilds 7900 in Textile Design, it is this creative area which most interests me. I work both by hand and machine, adopting an experimental approach investigating the inter-play of texture, colour, pattern with differing source materials and techniques. While I hope the same attitude informs all my work I would describe it as falling into two categories; “the purely decorative” and ”the practical”. The first category comprises abstract pictures or wall hangings, which often draw inspiration from my love of Norfolk, particularly its northern coastline, The practical output ranges from bracelets, spectacle/mobile phone cases, bags, tree decorations and table runners to large scale screens etc.
