Welcome to Peterborough Artists' Open Studios
Dates for Open Studios 2013 are
8 & 9, 15 &16, 22 & 23 June 2013
Each year, the artists and craftspeople of the Peterborough area open their studios, workspaces and homes to the public. They reveal the processes they use to create their work and invite visitors to learn about the ideas behind it. It is this interaction that makes the Open Studios event so special. Entry to each venue is free. All the artists will have original work for sale and many will have cards and prints available. Many will also take commissions. There is, of course, absolutely no obligation to buy anything. Visitors are welcome simply to have a look round, to talk to the artists, and to learn about the techniques and materials involved in their work.
Last year we had even more arts events for you to enjoy, with our launch in Peterborough city centre on 19th and 20th May 2012. Over that weekend local artists showcased their work in Cathedral Square, with a great exhibition, plus art demonstrations and live music.
Following on from last year’s successful preview event, local artists showcased their work in the Queensgate Centre on Saturday May 18th. Passing shoppers were treated to art demonstations providing a flavour of the main Open Studios event in June.
